Description of problem: Feature included as part of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1065753 This feature added the ability to add a reason when shutting down a vm for auditing purposes. The reason is added to the event log and a note icon is added to the status for that vm. However, there appears to be no way to see the contents of that note. I would expect a tool-tip when you hover over the note icon similar to the comment for VMs. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): RHEV3.5 Tested on RHEVM 3.5.7 (not noticed any updates for RHEV3.5.8 that match this) How reproducible: Everytime Steps to Reproduce: 1. "Enable to set VM Maintenance reason" option on the Cluster 2. Shutdown VM, add add a reason to dialog box 3. Once VM is shutdown, hover over note icon in status column Actual results: Nothing happens, no tool-tip, no way to get the reason from the note. Expected results: Generate a tool-tip containing the reason for vm shutdown. Additional info: As mentioned Feature was introduced in bz 1065753, and the reason is added to the event log successfully but the note added to status of VM does not work I assume this is a UX issue, hence adding UX team.
Oved, this was/is an infra feature. Moran, please fix flags.
Paul, note you can get the maintenance reason from the events subtab of that VM
Thanks Michal, I know you can get the maintenance reason from the event log but the point is if we only want users to get it from the event log we should not put an "inaccessible" note in the status column on the vm list. Either we make the note accessible or we remove it. For host shutdown we also have a maintenance reason, this is noted in the event log and a note is added to the host list, this note is accessible. So seems inconsistent.
(In reply to Paul Dwyer from comment #9) > So seems inconsistent. I agree. That was the reason why the feature was originally developed together. We will add the popup to VM as well. Let me change it back to a bug
