The 4.6 kernels seem to work fine on Lenovo X201 and X1 Carbon, but fails to work on T500. The 4.5 kernel boots fine on all. I am not sure how to collect useful data, other that photographing the screen of the various failure states. Please advise what would be helpful.
Photos of the screen would be a start. Also, if you can narrow down which particular 4.6 kernel build this started with, that would also be very helpful.
I'll try and get some snapshots. As far as I can remember no 4.6 kernel has booted. 4.5 still boots fine (well apart from a WiFi network problem).
Using 4.6.0-0.rc1.git0.1.fc25.x86_64 booting gives the me final screen as per the photos attached.
Created attachment 1142569 [details] Photo of final screen of failed boot. Hopefully this can be read when zoomed on display. It is the result of booting 4.6.0-0.rc1.git0.1.fc25.x86_64 on a Lenovo T500 2016-04-01T13:57+01:00
Something has changed, I find that: 4.6.0-0.rc4.git2.1.fc25.x86_64 boots fine on the T500 as well as X201, X1 and Dell Precision T5400.
Time has passed on this bug as far as I am concerned, 4.7 and 4.8 are now here.
