Last modified: 2014-08-31 19:26:33 EDT
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.2)
Description of problem:
See the bugzilla.samba.org URL above for full details. Samba produces
a traceback when a client connects while ldapsam_compat is configured
as a passdb backend.
It's fixed in SVN revision 2258.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install samba-3.0.6
2. Configure passdb backend = ldapsam_compat
Actual Results: Traceback as documented at the bugzilla.samba.org URL.
This patch was not included in 3.0.7. Did ldapsam_compat work
correctly with previous samba-3.0 packages?

Changeset 2258 as committed by Volker Lendecke <firstname.lastname@example.org>
I'm attaching the changeset to this bug so I don't lose track of it.
Yes, ldapsam_compat worked in all versions prior to 3.0.6 that I've
tried, including 3.0.4-6.3E.
FWIW, the patch from Comment#2 is present in the latest RHEL3 samba errata
