Description Jason Berry 2016-04-06 17:58:34 UTC
Description of problem:
Need a global way to disable auto-attach, instead of touching every host individually

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.1.7

Comment 1 Bryan Kearney 2016-07-26 19:00:04 UTC
Moving 6.2 bugs out to sat-backlog.

There are multiple ways that this can be interpreted.

- Provide a means to temporarily disable/reject auto-bind requests within an organization scoped to a well-defined period of time (such as 1 hour, 1 day, etc).
- within this org, switch all existing consumers to auto-attach = disabled
- within this org, switch all existing consumers to auto-attach = disabled AND set the default to disabled for newly created consumers.

Setting needinfo on jberry86 for clarification on what is being requested.

Looking for a setting, at the org level (or global, either is fine in my eyes), for "What should the default auto-attach value be for newly registered hosts?", with the options of "enabled" or "disabled".

Every host that registers, checks that setting for what to default auto-attach to.

I don't believe the setting should modify any existing hosts, only set the value for hosts from there forward.

If there is a need/want to change all hosts current settings, I believe that should be a separate tool/value/button.
