Hi, I'm seeing this on my skylake desktop system too, it seems that this warning is harmless and that we should probably just disable it. Are you having any trouble with using the external outputs ? Or do things work fine despite the warning ? Regards, Hans
Description of problem: Lenovo X1 Yoga (Skylake). Switched dual display setup to Mirror mode. Happens with both HDMI and DP external displays The system freezes up, and I can no longer switch to a VT. When I get this, I also get another one, but since my kernel is then already tainted GW the bug reporting tool does not allow me to submit it. WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 1488 at drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:13905 skl_max_scale.part.96+0x6e/0x80 [i915]() [i915] This seems to be Bug 1323410 But after these two errors I have to force shutdown the machine.
