Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Wrap description_label on scrolled window none

Description Oliver Ilian 2016-04-11 08:02:26 UTC
Description of problem:
when selecting the keys "org.gnome.metacity new-windows-always-on-top" and "org.gnome.metacity no-focus-windows" the dconf-editor resizes vertically and you can not make it smaller again. Selecting any other key than the 2 allows you to resize the window again.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
dconf-editor-0.22.0-2.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
every time you click on 1 of the 2 keys

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open dconf-editor and navigate to org.gnome.metacity
2. click on new-windows-always-on-top or no-focus-windows

Actual results:
Window maximizes vertically without possibility to resize the window again

Expected results:
nothing should happen with the size of the window

Wrap description_label on scrolled window

This bug was found not to be a priority, therefore it is been postponed to the next release.

The problem was that long descriptions for the schemas was causing the dconf-editor window to expand.

My patch (attached) solves this problem by wrapping the schema description on a scrolled window, showing a scrollbar only when necessary (long text), not introducing any visual change for regular text lengths.

Comment 3 Marek Kašík 2017-03-07 09:46:57 UTC
dconf-editor was split off dconf recently.

Comment 4 Marek Kašík 2017-03-07 10:05:39 UTC
The new dconf-editor has been redesigned in the way that it doesn't have this bug now.

Comment 6 Jiri Prajzner 2017-04-26 09:09:04 UTC
cannot reproduce
