Description Daniel B 2016-04-22 15:31:26 UTC
Description of problem:

Running an CentOS 7 server, acting as an x2go server, with the MATE desktop environment.

Everything is working fine, except that the screensaver is never triggered. When called manually, it's working:

mate-screensaver-command -a

or

mate-screensaver-command -l

But no matter the inactivity timeout set, it won't start by itself. When running this setup with thin-clients, it's a security issue (as there's no local screensaver to fire)

It looks like the issue is somewhere in mate-session (maybe inactivity timer isn't even fired as it's detected as a remote session ?), but my C-foo is too limited for me to track this further

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install x2goserver and the mate desktop environment
2. Configure the screensaver

Actual results:
Screensaver is never launched

Expected results:
Screensaver should be fired automatically when inactivity is detected

Comment 1 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2016-05-05 06:59:40 UTC
I can't reproduce this on my systems but i don't use a x2goserver.
Can you please file out a report at upstream, maybe there is someone who use a x2goserver.

Mate-1.12 is EOL.
