Description Andrew Dahms 2016-05-03 21:37:12 UTC
This bug is a tracker for work to reorganize the Transition Guide with the primary aim of clarifying the overall workflow and options, and promoting several items in the table of contents that cannot be seen due to nesting.

Comment 1 Andrew Dahms 2016-05-03 21:37:38 UTC
Assigning to Stephen for review.

Comment 4 Stephen Wadeley 2016-05-18 07:39:51 UTC
Andrew Dahms, seconded by myself, proposed to change the name:

Transition Guide → Migration Guide

Apart from the name being more suitable, there is also the benefit of consistency with other guides.

Rich Jerrido agreed to the name change.

Hello

"~/.transition_data directory" vs. "~/.migration_data directory"

There is an admonition:

All import data is stored in CSV files in the ~/.migration_data directory. This information is critical for any subsequent data imports. Do not modify the data in this directory.

My sed search and replace changed that from "~/.transition_data", but I wonder where that path comes from and if I need to change it back.

Change of plan, name change not going ahead to use of "Transition Guide" previously.

Comment 19 Andrew Dahms 2016-07-12 12:56:11 UTC

Moving to VERIFIED.
