Description Joachim Frieben 2016-05-05 16:46:01 UTC
Description of problem:
Installing current Fedora 25 Workstation using the corresponding network-install boot image is blocked by a version conflict between packages libreoffice-pdfimport and poppler since updating poppler from version 0.41 to version 0.43. However, changing the software selection to either "Basic desktop" or "Minimal install" which certainly do not pull in libreoffice, does -not- resolve this conflict. Accordingly, neither of both reduced software selections can be used to get around this version conflict.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-25.10-1.fc25

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot from Fedora-Workstation-netinst-x86_64-Rawhide-20160504.n.0.iso.
2. After acknowledging a version conflict between packages libreoffice-pdfimport and poppler choose software selection "Basic desktop" or "Minimal install".

Actual results:
Version conflict persists.

Expected results:
Version conflict disappears.

Additional info:
1. A related issue seems to be that this conflicts occurs in the first place even though libreoffice is -unchecked- by default. Checking and subsequent unchecking libreoffice has no effect with respect to said conflict. It might be the case that libreoffice is -always- installed regardless of the software selection made by the user even for "Minimal install" etc.
2. It already happened with earlier releases of Fedora that repeated modification of the software selection did not have the intended effect, namely avoiding existing package conflicts.
