Description mysteryman_thats_me 2000-07-03 01:53:56 UTC
RH 6.2 with every SMP kernel I have tried has a strange problem with all
wave audio. Just about any process using cpu time at all disturbs the
sound, causing 'jitters' and slowdown, whether it be mp3.
This problem did not exist in RH 6.1 or the Gentus version of 6.2.
The computer this problem occurs on has ample specs. i.e a dual celeron
466 with an abit bp6 motherboard and 64 mb of pc133 ram. The soundcard is
a creative awe64 value. all parts are known good. I'm pretty sure it's an
X problem. But hey, prove me wrong!

this has _nothing_ to do with X. What audio driver are you trying to use?
