It happens when I'm scrolling a static webpage in Google Chrome, it happens when I use Xfce terminal, it happens when I hit State Menu in XFCE4, it happens all the time.

The system is 100% unusable under Linux.

Fedora 23 is also affected (kernel 4.4.8).

I cannot show you the actual crash information because the system becomes totally unresponsive. Upon reboot there's nothing in systemd log - the kernel doesn't have enough time save crash info to the disk.

This firmware makes the issue go away.

It's nowhere to be found.

GTK3 applications under nouveau and this GPU has various glitches: for instance I don't see scroll bars at all - I see plain gray bars. Also, I don't see radio buttons and check boxes. Isn't it amazing?

I cannot run NVIDIA drivers (bug 1335173) and nouveau, even with appropriate firmware, works like shit.

This GPU is almost four years old BTW (released in September 13, 2012).

I'm closing this bug report as CANTFIX, because it's Fedora's position, "You cannot run your hardware under Linux at all? Well, go fuck off, it's not our problem".
