Yes, this was broken in 2.0 and was not due to be fixed until 2.1. Rest assured we will update to 2.1 as soon as it's released.

Any news on this replacing the broken one in EPEL?
Well, 2.1.0.0 is broken in a different way. ;) We hit here https://github.com/ansible/ansible/issues/16016 which is pretty bad if you aren't expecting it. I suppose that may be a corner case, so probibly will go ahead and push the epel ones stable anyhow. :(
