typing in "edit firstthreecharsofmachinename" and having it tabcomplete the name. same for commandname firstthreecharsofparam would be nice to have.

This will likely fall under the bash autocompletion feature. That said I don't know if this is going to work in all cases, since it would require connecting to the default URI, which may require authentication and would give a weird interaction
