Description Keith Basil 2016-05-20 03:35:59 UTC
Cloud operators want to be able to deploy a virtualized undercloud.

Comment 1 Mike Orazi 2016-06-17 16:36:18 UTC
Anecdotally several people are using virtualized underclouds. Are there specific functional gaps that need to be addressed or is this more a request to provide documentation around the supported VM sizes and virt networking configuration?

Comment 5 Keith Basil 2016-09-16 13:32:08 UTC
Updated BZ title to more accurately reflect scope of the ask.

@Derek and Keith -- I was CC'd on an email thread asking if RHEV 4 was supported (it's not on the list). Was there any reason it wasn't included?

As a starting point the hypervisors listed were taken from the list of hypervisors on which RHEL is supported[1], I see RHEV 4 is on that list but perhaps it wasn't when this document was put together.

Thanks, Derek.

Just FYI, we've had a documentation request for it and QE are currently testing OSP10 on RHV4. They have identified an issue with conflicting RHEL versions (OSP10 requires RHEL7.3 while I think RHV4.0 has only been tested with RHEL7.2 at this stage), but it shouldn't affect the OSP10 on RHV4 to any great degree.

Closing this BZ as the content is now live in the documentation. If further changes are requires, please feel free to reopen this BZ.

Just a side note, QE have tested RHOSP10 on RHV4.0 and RHV4.1-Beta with success. I've also added a note that the virt platforms must support the RHEL OS version of the undercloud node (i.e. 7.3 at the moment, 7.4 in spring).
