Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:

Selecting the vmware cluster throws a traceback

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
sat62-snap12.1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add vmware compute resource
2. while creating a "new host"
3. populate the cluster under the "virtual machine" tab

Actual results:
| NoMethodError: undefined method `summary' for #<RbVmomi::VIM::Folder:0x007fe1f2510208>

Also the spinner is seen continuously at the top most locatio near to "Red Hat Satellite".

as seen in /var/log/foreman/production.log

Expected results:
No traceback and no continuous spinner should be seen while provisioning.

Comment 3 Kedar Bidarkar 2016-05-25 10:49:06 UTC
I believe this should be fixed, as it is very annoying issue. But we do have a workaround for the continuous spinner, which would not all use to select the resources.

Workaround:

a) Re-Select the, Cluster : "Please select a cluster" from the dropdown [ the spinner should go ]
b) Now slect the desired Cluster
c) We should be now able to select "Resource Pool"

Comment 4 Kedar Bidarkar 2016-05-25 10:50:48 UTC
My bad, I meant:

But we do have a workaround for the continuous spinner, which would not allow us to select the "Resource Pool".

Comment 11 Ondřej Pražák 2016-08-22 08:22:31 UTC
The traceback seems to be already fixed in Fog since I could not reproduce, the fix for spinner was submitted to upstream.

Comment 12 Bryan Kearney 2016-08-30 12:17:14 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite 6 since the upstream issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/16163 has been resolved.

select vmware cluster

Verified.
Version Tested: Satellite-6.3 Snap 12
In host creation page, under virtual machine tab, selecting cluster works as intended, as you can see at the attached gif.
