This is primarily considered as an issue on the libvirt side, than in Qemu. Upstream Libvirt has fixed this issue since version 1.3.3 with virtlogd(1) daemon, which monitors the log file size and prunes when required. It is unlikely to be fixed in upstream Qemu; Closing it as non-qemu bug.
