RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Stef Walter 2016-05-31 05:42:27 UTC
libiscsi from iscsi-initiator-utils on RHEL doesn't provide any API to retrieve information about current iscsi sessions.

Issue exists in: libiscsi-devel.x86_64 0:1.9.0-7.el7

Patch was applied to Fedora: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1262279

Comment 1 Stef Walter 2016-05-31 05:42:44 UTC
This prevents storaged and cockpit iSCSI functionality from working on RHEL.

Comment 2 Paolo Bonzini 2016-05-31 11:55:54 UTC
Moved to the right libiscsi (there's two of them).

Comment 3 Sandro Bonazzola 2017-08-22 09:49:23 UTC
Any plan for this?

Comment 4 Ryan Barry 2017-09-26 23:57:43 UTC
Hey Marius -

I see that cockpit should have this functionality, per https://trello.com/c/PG1LJDX9/127-095-iscsi-initiator

There's even a demo, which is great! Except that I don't see it. I do see references to the iSCSI portal in the source, but it doesn't appear on an installed system. What do we need to do to enable this other than including cockpit-storaged (where the source appears to live)?

You would need to apply this patch from bug 1262279 to libiscsi in RHEL:

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=1072516

Then storaged (or udisks2) needs to be recompiled. Then Cockpit will start showing its iSCSI UI.

Comment 6 Sandro Bonazzola 2017-10-12 13:00:11 UTC
Chris, can we get a rebuild with patch suggested in comment #5 included?

Comment 7 Sandro Bonazzola 2018-02-15 16:25:08 UTC
Sarah, can we get estimation on when this is going to land in RHEL?

Comment 8 Sandro Bonazzola 2018-11-28 11:09:51 UTC
This missed 7.5 -> 7.6; can we have a target milestone for this? 7.6.z? 7.7?

Comment 9 Sandro Bonazzola 2019-06-14 07:21:10 UTC
Missed 7.7, retrying with 8.1 for RHV 4.4

Comment 10 Sandro Bonazzola 2020-03-18 11:26:05 UTC
Not tracking this for RHV 4.4 anymore
