Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9 introduces enhancements to how Glance handles uploading large images.

A brief introduction to uploading images needs to be added to "Upload an Image" in the Instances and Images guide (for example, what happens to the image when it is uploaded, etc.), and a paragraph on the new functionality added to outline how large images are now handled.

From the engineering bug:

"Keystone tokens have some restricted lifetime. After the user token has expired, any request initiated by Glance which needs a valid user token will fail. This causes the original user’s request to also fail, even though the token was originally valid when passed to Glance."
