Description Dan Kenigsberg 2016-06-08 11:22:45 UTC
RHEV-3.3 introduced https://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/storage/diskalignment/ to let users verify whether their guests have sane partition alignments.

This is important for performance of old guest OSs (mainly Windows).

The feature depends on libguestfs-tools-c, which is not delivered on RHEV for PPC. The feature is not really interesting on PPC, as we are unaware of PPC-compatible OS that creates misaligned partitions.

The bug is opened only for documenting this fact.

Comment 1 Lucy Bopf 2016-06-30 06:58:45 UTC
Updating the doc text for inclusion in the Release Notes.

Leaving this bug open for now to assess whether any further docs changes are required.

Comment 2 Lucy Bopf 2016-11-01 13:56:43 UTC
Updating summary. The requirement here is to add Disk Alignment to the list of unsupported features here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-virtualization/4.0/paged/release-notes/chapter-2-rhv-for-ibm-power

Comment 3 Lucy Bopf 2017-01-19 13:36:43 UTC
Assigning to Emma for review.

Emma, see comment 2 for the bug requirement.
