Description Chris Rainey 2004-10-02 05:50:44 UTC
unable to set dual-head with following output in terminal while running:

[root@CKR-1 ~]# system-config-display
Trying with card: NVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS (generic)
in hydrate_second
Traceback (most recent call last):

1. run s-c-display from terminal
2. proceed thru steps to configure dual-head
3. attempt to finish by clicking 'OK' button

[root@CKR-1 ~]# cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Please could you attach (not inline) the config generated by
system-config-display --reconfig.

Please in paste the output of running this python script as root

import rhpl.videocard
cards = rhpl.videocard.VideoCardInfo.videocards
for i in range(len(cards)):
   print "Card #%s %s Bus: %s" % (i, cards[i].getCardData()["NAME"],
cards[i].getPCIBus())

Comment 2 Dana Canfield 2004-10-13 18:37:36 UTC
Confirming that I experience the same issue here, with an Nvdia
dual-head graphics card.

Comment 3 Tod Matola 2004-10-26 20:30:02 UTC
Using --reconfig allow the /etc/X11/xorg.conf be generated (with wrong
screen resolutions), but I could the restart X and reconfig each screen.

I think the python version I have and the script you suggest match.

[root@localhost ~]# ./test.py

Cheers Tod....

Comment 4 Paul Nasrat 2004-12-01 15:44:07 UTC
Sorry my bad missing parenthesis:

import rhpl.videocard
cards = rhpl.videocard.VideoCardInfo().videocards
for i in range(len(cards)):
   print "Card #%s %s Bus: %s" % (i, cards[i].getCardData()["NAME"],
cards[i].getPCIBus())

Comment 7 Adam Jackson 2006-03-03 15:33:54 UTC
Mass update: move dual head bugs from FC5 to FC6, no way they can get fixed
before FC5 release at this point.

Comment 8 Matthias Clasen 2006-07-06 22:02:27 UTC
Add to FC6Destop tracker

Comment 9 Adam Jackson 2007-03-26 19:45:21 UTC
There is no dual-head support in the nv driver. Resolution of this bug depends
on nv growing dual-head support first, which is an upstream issue.
