RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Which version of NetworkManager do you have install? the 1.0.6-29 of rhel-7.2?

Comment 3 Oliver Ilian 2016-07-04 15:44:54 UTC
Yes, it is 1.0.6-29 of rhel-7.2

Comment 4 Thomas Haller 2016-07-04 16:21:45 UTC
Hi Oliver,

Can you still reproduce this easily? Could you enable debug-logging and reproduce it?

(do that, by configuring /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf with

  [logging]
  level=TRACE

followed by `systemctl restart NetworkManager`).

Is the use of kernel 3.10.0-429.el7.BZ1332712_usbv4.6 kernel essential to reproduce this?

Thank you.

Comment 5 Oliver Ilian 2016-07-06 08:14:27 UTC
I can still see it with 3.10.0-461.el7.x86_64

uname -a
Linux dhcp-64-242.muc.redhat.com 3.10.0-461.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jul 4 09:36:53 EDT 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

log file with TRACE enabled attached. created with : journalctl | grep -A 50 -B 200 wpa_supplicant1

Comment 7 Thomas Haller 2016-08-12 18:42:40 UTC
thanks Oliver.

the <warn> message is bogus and upstream already suppresses it:

https://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/commit/?id=6596ceee1442d37ea715be06f8a65195082db627

Note, that the logging message is an annoyance, but harmless.

As we rebase NetworkManager with rhel-7.3, this bug will be fixed automatically.

Comment 9 Vladimir Benes 2016-09-16 09:08:14 UTC
Cannot see these errors anymore.
