Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

At least, it is not a completed solution for this issue. The kernel/target drivers will be removed via /usr/share/lorax/runtime-cleanup.tmpl.

This wasn't from the test package I requested to be tested. The -d in check() is wrong (it should be -c), and I included only what I believe was the only target module needed, target_core_mod. But good that we're getting close. Is anything else under drivers/target/ actually required here?

zguo, please file a lorax bug and set it as a blocker of this bug.

No, it is not your test package. I tried it. Failed to load ib_srpt module because of missing target modules. And lorax runtime-cleanup.tmpl file removes entire drivers/target directory. So, I dropped your and overwrite the old rdma package with my hacked one.

Yes, you are right. That is why I force lorax to install rdma with 'lorax -i rdma blabla ....'.

I'd suggest to package up drivers/target. When pxeboot/initrd.img and LiveOS/squashfs.img have different modules, it is really confusing for debugging.

That was the feedback I was looking for when asking to test the package I created. :)

I'm not quite sure why that change didn't work, based on:

$ modinfo ib_srpt |grep target
description: InfiniBand SCSI RDMA Protocol target v2.0.0 (2011-02-14)
depends: ib_core,target_core_mod,ib_cm,ib_mad

All of those should have been present and satisfied.

Despite the head-scratching about ib_srpt failing, since iser looks to need more of drivers/target/* anyway, and it's working for you, I'll add all of drivers/target/*.

Thank you!

Issue is gone with latest rdma package.

Check the rdma service after installation:

Hi Andre,

Any plans to have this fix for RHEL 7.2 as well?
What is the status for RHEL 7.1?

Thanks,
Noa
