Description of problem: After upgrading to f24 (so upgrading from hexchat 2.10.2-4.f23 to hexchat 2.12.1-2.f24), the input box and topic box does not respect the "Use the Text box font and colors" settings. Even with this setting, they are still white. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): hexchat-2.12.1-2.fc24.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. upgrade to f24 or clean install 2. install hexchat 3. change the settings to "Use the Text box font and colors" Actual results: The input and topic box are still white. Nevermind I am able to reproduce it.
This issue does seem to be specific to Fedora but I didn't see any relevant patches to gtk2. On HexChats end the logic is behaving normally.
Ah not Fedora specific but Adwaita theme specific.

Thanks for the help and reporting the bug to Gnome. It seems Arch got the same problem : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/48841 I don't know what was fixed and how but they seems to have solve the issue.
I use Arch and the Adwaita theme they have behaves the same as Fedoras.

I just upgraded to fedora 24 and I am having still having this issue. I cannot change the color of the input and topic boxes.
