Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1349481
USB auto-share not functional in Windows client
Last modified: 2016-08-23 16:53:49 EDT
Description of problem: I can not automatically redirect USB flash drive. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Client: Windows 10 64bit UsbDk 1.0.12 Guest: rhel 6.8, rhel 7.2 How reproducible:always Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot guest VM, install UsbDk to client 2.connect to guest VM with remote-viewer (USB auto-share enabled) and bring it into focus 3.connect USB device to client Actual results: USB device is not recognized by guest VM neither by client machine Expected results: USB device is recognized and mounted by guest VM Additional info: nothing in spice-debug log, server log or vdagent log
Is manual usbredir working (via the remote-viewer's "File->Usb device selection" menu) ?
If I connect USB device to client when remote-viewer is out of focus, USB mounts properly to client machine and then I can successfully redirect USB device by "File->Usb device selection" menu to guest. If I connect USB device when the remote-viewer is in the focus, the USB device is not detected by client (not in device manager) neither by guest (tried lsusb and dmesg with no avail) and is not present in "File->Usb device selection" remote-viewer menu.
This bug is also extends to a case where a client is Windows 7 64 (with latest updates).
Fixed in UsbDk v1.00-13.
I have tested fixed version of UsbDk v1.00-14 and the auto-share USB feature worked for me flawlessly (guests rhel6.8, rhel 7.3, client Win8.1).
As for: ovirt-engine-4.0.2-0.1.rc.el7ev.noarch rhevm-spice-client-x64-msi-4.0-2.el7ev.noarch rhevm-spice-client-x86-msi-4.0-2.el7ev.noarch This bug is not fixed. The bug is supposed to be fixed, only when RHEVM ships correct RPMs.
