"MP table in the EBDA can be UNSAFE" message on x365

Description of problem:
In dmesg after booting an IBM x365 with the 2.4.9-e.49summit kernel:
"kernel: WARNING: MP table in the EBDA can be UNSAFE, contact
firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience SMP problems!"
booting an earlier kernel (2.4.9-e.40summit), there's only this message:
WARNING: unexpected IO-APIC, please mail to email@example.com
I believe the problem (MP table warning, as opposed to unknown
IO_APIC) could be due to this changelog entry:
