Is the attached message the only thing you see on the screen?

If you remove 'rhgb' and 'quiet' from the kernel command line, does this still happen?

If so, does 'nomodeset' help?

Comment 2 Rich Jankowski 2016-07-06 02:15:20 UTC
Yes, the attachment is where it hangs after removing rhgb and quiet. I tried nomodeset, and it hangs at "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... ok"

I added edd=off, and just get a black screen.

I just bought a new ASUS UX305UA-FC057T who includes

* Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz
* Skylake Host Bridge/DRAM Registers

It boots fine with kernel-4.5.5-300 and kernel-4.5.7-300

It hangs, black screen, with kernel kernel-4.6.3-300 and kernel-4.6.4-301

Looking at http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1766662 it seems we are not alone with this problem....
