Description of problem: I have radeon R9 380. After the KMS driver activates, the fans on the GPU stops. They can be activated again by properly setting up fancontrol, but this wasn't configured on my PC. As the result, for the last few years I have replaced many motherboards, all starting to have bad capacitors around the video card. But only now I have noticed that the fans are not rotating... :( Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-4.5.7-300.fc24.x86_64 How reproducible: easily Steps to Reproduce: 1. cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/pwm1 Actual results: 0 Expected results: 255 or maybe 128, whatever is the default. Additional info: The driver should activate fans by default, or don't touch the initial settings (fans are rotating before linux have started), but not stop them by default.

5.5.7-200.fc31 is not very usable. The video card doesn't go out of hibernate, saa7134 driver is broken, and more and more. I have to stay on 5.4.20-200.fc31.x86_64 and can't test whether the new kernel has the bug I reported here (though I am sure it does).
