Just ran into https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18035 : $ pldd $$ 4938: /usr/bin/bash then it hangs. According to the upstream bug, this has been broken since 2.19.
This bug is open upstream and we're not going to to fix this in Fedora unless upstream fixes it. Please continue the discussion upstream. As a workaround you can use gdb: cat >> pldd.sh <<EOF #!/bin/sh gdb -ex "set confirm off" -ex "set height 0" -ex "info shared" -ex "quit" -p $1 | grep '^0x.*0x' EOF This needs gdb and grep. The purpose of pldd is to print the list of shared objects in use by the application in question. It's useful in some instances when gdb might not be stable, but that seems like a really small use case.
For the record I've recommended upstream deprecate and remove pldd.
A supposed fix was just committed upstream: https://sourceware.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=glibc.git;h=1a4c27355e146b6d8cc6487b998462c7fdd1048f
