Description Harald Reindl 2016-08-08 08:59:46 UTC
the "dns: new_dns_packet a domain name contains a null label" are known, but the other stuff about uninitalized variables is new in Fedora 24 and likely has something to do with the environment (perl & friends)

Same issue here. Upstream patch is available here: https://svn.apache.org/viewvc/spamassassin/branches/3.4/lib/Mail/SpamAssassin/Plugin/URIDNSBL.pm?r1=1676616&r2=1694126&pathrev=1694126&view=patch

@Kevin: Maybe you can backport it to Fedora?

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2017-07-25 22:17:38 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 24 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 24. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '24'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 24 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 Kevin Fenzi 2017-07-25 22:21:52 UTC
I was hoping for a new upstream release, but one never came. ;(

Will look at backporting.

Comment 4 Jan Kurik 2017-08-15 09:26:20 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 27 development cycle.
Changing version to '27'.

Comment 5 Kevin Fenzi 2017-10-23 23:20:34 UTC
Sorry for this languishing.

I gave up and backported this to the rawhide package.

Can you confirm it's fixed there? Or do you all want updates for other releases?

Comment 6 Harald Reindl 2017-10-23 23:38:54 UTC
F26 is the newest release here especially with spamassassin configured

Comment 7 Kevin Fenzi 2017-10-23 23:59:33 UTC
Sure, can push f27/f26 updates. Look for them soon...
