Description of problem: Recent kernels of the 4.8.0 development line lead to a kernel panic and system freeze on my Lenovo ThinkPad T400 when shutting down the machine. It is stuck at that point and needs a hard reset. Kernel 4.8.0-0.rc1.git1.1.fc25 was the first one to fix this issue. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-4.8.0-0.rc1.git0.1.fc25 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Shut down or reboot Lenovo ThinkPad T400 running kernel 4.8.0 prior to 4.8.0-0.rc1.git1.1.fc25. Actual results: Kernel panic before shut down or reboot procedure are completed. Expected results: System shuts down or reboots cleanly. Additional info: - issue fixed by kernel-4.8.0-0.rc1.git1.1.fc25. - issue does not affect a virtual machine running kernel-4.8.0-0.rc1.git0.1.fc25.
According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1361614#c11, kernel-4.8.0-0.rc1.git0.1.fc25 is scheduled for inclusion into Fedora 25 Alpha which should be avoided.
