Description Ilanit Stein 2016-09-01 14:56:35 UTC
Description of problem:

On CFME, Add New Infrastructure Provider window,
Enter RHEV-4.0 Provider details. Validate login credentials fail.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CFME 5.5.5.4.20160722162813_629f93b
RHV-4.0.3-0.1.el7ev

How reproducible:
Tried multiple times, and it always fail.

Additional info:
- On CFME 5.6.1.2 - same RHV-4.0 provider is added successfully. Login to the provider is successful too.

- On the same CFME, of version 5.5.5.4, a RHEVM-3.6 is added successfully, including the login.

Comment 2 Ilanit Stein 2016-09-01 15:22:56 UTC
Checked same CFME version 5.5.5.4,
with RHV-4.0.4-0.1.el7ev as well,
and got the same login failure,
when pressing "Validate" the credentials,
in the "Add New Infrastructure Provider" window.

RHV4 is supported also in CFME 5.6.1 and above.
As we've discussed in the past, in order to work with RHV4 you must have CFME >= 5.6.1.

Turning this bug into a doc bug.

Need to add to CFME-4.0 documentation/supported matrix, that RHV-4.0 is not supported.

Setting release flags.

Currently investigating when this bug can be addressed.

Comment 6 Andrew Dahms 2017-03-14 01:15:03 UTC
I have now added a note to the Support Matrix to call out the status of support for Red Hat Virtualization 4.0 and above.

The structure of the document in 4.0 does not offer a clear position to add this note, so I have added it to the following section, which is the likeliest position where it may be noticed by users -

https://access.redhat.com/articles/1548913#infrastructure-provider-support-by-feature-7
