Description Ievgen Zapolskyi 2016-09-07 08:34:12 UTC

vm details

Description of problem:
VM belongs to some cluster (default one in our env). Therefore, that section should contain a Cluster relationship entity as it is done for all other providers.

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add nested-rhevm34 provider to CFME and refresh relationships
2. Open All VMs via Compute->Infrastructure->Virtual Machines
3. Open Details view for any existing VM or newly created one
4. Take a look on Relationships section

Actual results:
VM details->Relationships section doesn't have Cluster entity it belongs to

Expected results:
Cluster section should exist in Relationships section of VM details view

Comment 3 Ievgen Zapolskyi 2016-09-07 12:19:27 UTC
I've just noticed that when same VM is created via RHEV Administration console, it appears with Cluster relationship in CFME.

Comment 4 Oved Ourfali 2016-09-08 05:53:49 UTC
Hi Ievgen,

Did you get to test it also on newer versions of RHEV?

Comment 5 Ievgen Zapolskyi 2016-09-08 10:02:04 UTC
Hi Oved,
I've just checked this issue for RHEV35. It exists for it as well.

Comment 6 Ievgen Zapolskyi 2016-09-12 13:57:10 UTC
I experience the same issue for Host relationship for RHEV 34 - 36 in most cases. I get around this issue by re-discovering this vm.

Comment 8 Ilanit Stein 2016-11-20 13:41:41 UTC
Tested on CFME-5.7.0.11, and RHV-3.4, 3.5, 3.6.8, 4.0.5.

Followed the flow in the bug description.
For all the above RHV versions, the cluster field existed, and contained the value: "default".

On RHV-4.0.5, for a down VM on cluster default, where there is also an up host,
Cluster field is field correctly,

However, after moving this VM to another cluster, under the same data center,
Cluster line, in VM summary, for this VM, vanish.

Piotr,
Would you please advise on on that?

Comment 9 Piotr Kliczewski 2016-11-21 08:45:12 UTC
Ilanit, were there any other vms in the "new" cluster? How did you move the vm?

Comment 10 Ilanit Stein 2016-11-22 11:47:07 UTC
There are no other vms in the "new" cluster.
I moved the VM on RHV side (edit VM).

Comment 11 Piotr Kliczewski 2016-11-22 11:57:05 UTC
It can be issue with this specific operation. What was the event that was raised?

Comment 12 Ilanit Stein 2016-11-22 15:53:42 UTC
Tested on CFME-5.7.0.1 (that do not include the fix for this bug).

RHV-4.0.5 contain 1 Datacenter, with 2 clusters: "Default", and "test".
There is 1 host, on Default cluster.
All VMs are in "Default" cluster, except 1 that is in "test" cluster.

I added this RHV provider to the CFME appliance.

For VMs in cluster "Default", VM details page contain Cluster field, and it is populated correctly ("Default").
For VM in cluster "test", VM details page do not contain Cluster field.

This problem of missing cluster seem to be unrelated to update VM, since the update VM was done before adding the RHV to the CFME appliance.

Also,
my expectation was to see that there is no cluster field for CFME-5.7.0.1,
as reported in this bug,
unless there is a mistake and this fix was fixed before CFME-5.7.0.2,
as mentioned in "Fixed in version".

Comment 13 Ilanit Stein 2016-11-22 16:36:37 UTC
This bug solves the problem of down VMs not having cluster field, in VM details page.

Indeed this problem is seen in CFME-5.7.0.1 (before this bug fix).

On CFME-5.7.0.11,
down VMs do have cluster field under VM details now.

Therefore moving this bug to verified.

The problem mentioned in comment #8,
is another problem, related to that after update VM cluster, the cluster field vanish - Bug 1397503.
