Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2017:2203 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE sos bug fix and enhancement update 2017-08-01 19:41:56 UTC

Description Miroslav Hradílek 2016-09-07 13:06:19 UTC
Description of problem:
Cluster plugin was split into multiple plugins in currently unreleased sos-3.3. The examples section in usage message still references cluster plugin. Running the example results in error message.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
sos-3.3-3.el7.noarch (unreleased)

How reproducible:
100%

Actual results:
# sosreport -h
Usage: sosreport [options]
. . .
Some examples:

enable cluster plugin only and collect dlm lockdumps:
   # sosreport -o cluster -k cluster.lockdump
. . .

# sosreport -o cluster -k cluster.lockdump

sosreport (version 3.3)

unable to set option for disabled or non-existing plugin (cluster)
a non-existing plugin (cluster) was specified in the command line

Expected results:
Usage should contain the example applicable to the current state of the plugins.

Comment 2 Pavel Moravec 2016-09-07 20:07:22 UTC
We agreed it is rather doc bug we dont need to fix in 7.3 due to late stage of 7.3 release cycle.
