Description Bohumil Kriz 2016-09-12 07:30:29 UTC
Description of problem:
After update of kernel from 4.6.7-300.fc24.x86_64 to 4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64 brightness control stopped working. Brightness is still on maximum. By pressing Fn-F8 and Fn-F9 I can move indicator but not lower brightness.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-4.6.7-300.fc24.x86_64 - works ok
kernel-4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64 - stopped working

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install kernel kernel-4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64
2. boot with this kernel
3. Fn-F8 and Fn-F9 only move indicator, but not set brightness

Actual results:
Brightness not working with kernel 4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64

Expected results:
Brightness setting works.

Additional info:
Notebook Maxdata with Quad core Intel Core i7-3612QM CPU and Intel HD Graphics 4000. Fedora 24 with Cinnamon installed.

After update to kernel-4.7.3-200.fc24.x86_64 there is no change - brightness still not working.

Sorry for that "little" outdated system report. I only wanted paste information about my HW, so I copied it from my notes, and didn't realize, that there is a lot of info about SW too. There is actual version:

After upgrade to kernel-4.7.4-200.fc24.x86_64 - nothing change.
