Description of problem: When I try to launch arduino IDE its not loading anmore, but it used to load fine. I use XFCE. It gives mie the following error: $ arduino /usr/bin/build-classpath: Could not find jackson-module-mrbean Java extension for this JVM /usr/bin/build-classpath: error: Some specified jars were not found Loading configuration... Error parsing gtk-icon-sizes string: '' Initializing packages... java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/fasterxml/jackson/module/mrbean/MrBeanModule at processing.app.BaseNoGui.initPackages(BaseNoGui.java:574) at processing.app.Base.<init>(Base.java:266) at processing.app.Base.guardedMain(Base.java:210) at processing.app.Base.main(Base.java:123) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.fasterxml.jackson.module.mrbean.MrBeanModule at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:381) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:424) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:331) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:357) ... 4 more Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Arduino Version is: 1.6.4-8.fc25 jackson-module-mrbean Version is: 2.7.6-2.fc25 How reproducible: When I type aruino in a shell, i get this error Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch shell 2. type "arduino" and press enter 3. get the error Actual results: The error is listet above Expected results: Arduino IDE should start Additional info: As I said it used to work, but I dont know since when its not working, probably since a few days.
+1 ... looks like /usr/bin/build-classpath can't find the proper path to the jar. Eugene as a workaround you can do: # cd /usr/share/java # ln -s jackson-modules-base jackson-module-mrbean Until the fix is out.
Thanks a lot for the workaround, but I had my own workaround ... called Debian, sorry :-)
