Hi, I am attempting to upgrade from Fedora 24 to 25 using dnf system-upgrade. I've run into this on two separate machines: file /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/python_mpd-0.2.1-py2.7.egg-info from install of python2-mpd-0.2.1-13.fc25.noarch conflicts with file from package python-mpd-0.2.1-11.fc24.noarch Cheers, Ankur
Good morning, I too ran into the following error when updating with "sudo dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=25" from Fedora 24 to Fedora 25: Error: Transaction check error: file /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/python_mpd-0.2.1-py2.7.egg-info from install of python2-mpd-0.2.1-13.fc25.noarch conflicts with file from package python-mpd-0.2.1-11.fc24.noarch After the first sytstem-upgrade attempt, I tried using the "-allowerasing" option with the following command "sudo dnf system-upgrade download --refresh -allowerasing --releasever=25" as recommended but I failed with the same message. I'm using a standard, vanilla Fedora 24 Gnome 3.20.2 setup with no modifications on a Dell Optiplex 760 (Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz × 2, 4GB RAM,80 GB HD). I followed the system upgrade procedure outlined here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_system_upgrade Fedora is far-and-away my favorite distro. If you need more information, please let me know. Thanks, Darren
I got the exact same issue... Running 'sudo dnf system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=25 --allowerasing' and getting ' Running transaction check Transaction check succeeded. Running transaction test The downloaded packages were saved in cache until the next successful transaction. You can remove cached packages by executing 'dnf clean packages'. Error: Transaction check error: file /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/python_mpd-0.2.1-py2.7.egg-info from install of python2-mpd-0.2.1-13.fc25.noarch conflicts with file from package python-mpd-0.2.1-11.fc24.noarch Error Summary ------------- ' Petr
Also an issue on a F23->F25 upgrade. Work around is to remove python_mpd (I dont need it on this machine).
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
