I'm moving this to Pike planning, the specification was re-approved for Ocata by the original submitter but they did not re-propose the code and we didn't have scope to pick up the development work ourselves.

Yes it is something we still care about, i.e. to be able to block all local disk creation if needed.

This isn't dead upstream and may yet happen, but it's not something we're planning to actively drive any time soon.
