Description Bastien Nocera 2004-11-10 18:14:37 UTC
$ mii-tool
eth0: negotiated 100baseTx-FD flow-control, link ok
$ ethtool eth0 | grep Speed
Settings for eth0:
       Speed: 1000Mb/s

net-tools-1.60-20

As I'm pretty sure mii-tool doesn't know about Gigabit speeds (none
are mentioned in the man page), the manpage should be updated to
reflect the fact that mii-tool usage is discouraged if ethtool works,
and that it doesn't support Gigabit speeds.

This is what I see in manpage for mii-tool.

Valid  media  are  100baseT4, 100baseTx-FD, 100baseTx-HD, 10baseT-FD,
and 10baseT-HD.

Anyway, I will mention ethtool there and that mii-tool is obsolete.
