Exists in FC25.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 19:11:57 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 dan 2017-12-13 18:52:06 UTC
Still an issue in FC27. Is this maintained? If not, I recommend removal from the distribution as it has not worked in several major releases. Seems to be the same as 1251562 reported during FC22 lifecycle.

Comment 4 Marco Guazzone 2018-05-06 13:23:38 UTC
Same issue in FC28

Comment 5 Marco Guazzone 2018-05-22 20:19:10 UTC
It would be great if Fedora packagers add a modern replacement of radiotray like:
* radiotray-lite: https://github.com/thekvs/radiotray-lite, or
* goodvibes: https://github.com/elboulangero/goodvibes

I'm trying radiotray-lite (compiled from sources). No problem to date. IMO, the only negative points wrt radiotray are:
* it doesn't show the album cover preview, and
* to know the title of the song that is currently playing you must right-click on the systray icon (in radiotray, you access this info through the tooltip).

Comment 6 Marco Guazzone 2018-07-19 07:27:43 UTC
I've been trying radiotray-lite (https://github.com/thekvs/radiotray-lite) for some months as a replacement of radiotray.
It works very well.

Dear maintainer, for the next Fedora release, could you consider to replace radiotray with radiotray-lite?

Please, let me know what do you think.

Thank you.

Comment 7 Marco Guazzone 2018-11-03 14:35:34 UTC
radiotray does not work in Fedora 29 too. Indeed, it fails to install:

  $ sudo dnf install radiotray
  ...
Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'Dropbox', ignoring this repo.
Last metadata expiration check: 0:00:01 ago on Sat 03 Nov 2018 03:14:37 PM CET.
  Error:
   Problem: conflicting requests
    - nothing provides python2-notify needed by radiotray-0.7.3-12.fc29.noarch

Moved to radiotray-lite (https://github.com/thekvs/radiotray-lite).
It would be nice having this application in the official Fedora repo.

Comment 8 Or Schiro 2019-05-06 08:07:19 UTC
The issue is still present with Fedora 30.

Are there any updates on this?

Comment 9 dan 2019-05-06 11:42:46 UTC
Email sent to QA contact requesting package removal from Fedora because of lack of action on this ticket. Package is not working and has not worked in years.

Comment 10 Or Schiro 2019-05-06 11:45:31 UTC
Can we please replace it by radiotray-ng then? It's the successor and reportedly very well-functioning!

This message is a reminder that Fedora 30 is nearing its end of life.

Comment 12 Ben Cotton 2020-05-26 15:05:51 UTC
Fedora 30 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2020-05-26. Fedora 30 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
