I am trying to open a magicpoint file which I will attach to this bug.
For some reason, every attempt results in vim opening an empty buffer,
and claiming that it is a new file. 

Using vim-X11-6.2.532.

*sigh* Apparently I'm having some very odd nfs problems that have
nothing to do with Vim. This is not a bug.
