Comment 3 Jerry James 2017-04-12 18:13:20 UTC
I'm attaching some suggested updates to sigil, including building version 0.9.8. The changes include:
- Add a trivial patch to fix a trivial code bug
- Drop boost-devel and xerces-c-devel BRs, as they are no longer used
- Add pkgconfig BR
- Fix more wrong executable bits and end of line encodings
- Don't use /usr/bin/env to find python
- Drop obsolete update-desktop-database invocations
- Don't patch the hunspell version into the python hunspell plugin code. The problem is that the patched version number can become out of date without anybody noticing. For example, it currently inserts "1.3" into the library search, which is correct for F24, but wrong for F25 (which needs "1.4"), and F26 and Rawhide (which need "1.5"). Instead, use ls and sed to find the right version number and insert it. That way nobody has to remember to change that patch when hunspell is updated.
- I ran appdata-util update on sigil.appdata.xml, then fixed up the comments that it inserted.

I'm happy to do the builds for this if you want me to do so, and if you approve of all these changes.
