SELinux is preventing /usr/lib/cyrus-imapd/imapd from read access on the file unix.
Last modified: 2018-04-10 08:26:24 EDT
SELinux is preventing /usr/lib/cyrus-imapd/imapd from read access on the file unix. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that imapd should be allowed read access on the unix file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep imapd /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:cyrus_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:proc_net_t:s0 Target Objects unix [ file ] Source imapd Source Path /usr/lib/cyrus-imapd/imapd Port <Unknown> Host server.interlinx.bc.ca Source RPM Packages cyrus-imapd-2.4.17-8.el7_1.x86_64 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.13.1-60.el7_2.9.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name server.interlinx.bc.ca Platform Linux server.interlinx.bc.ca 3.10.0-327.36.3.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Oct 24 16:09:20 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 24 First Seen 2016-10-26 19:32:16 EDT Last Seen 2016-11-08 10:23:42 EST Local ID bc1a8625-ab52-4fc8-af4b-1dfe86634fdf Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1478618622.141:60154): avc: denied { read } for pid=30803 comm="imapd" name="unix" dev="proc" ino=4026532002 scontext=system_u:system_r:cyrus_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:proc_net_t:s0 tclass=file type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1478618622.141:60154): arch=x86_64 syscall=access success=no exit=EACCES a0=7fff8eacfb10 a1=4 a2=7fff8eacfb1e a3=3 items=0 ppid=7702 pid=30803 auid=4294967295 uid=76 gid=12 euid=76 suid=76 fsuid=76 egid=12 sgid=12 fsgid=12 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=imapd exe=/usr/lib/cyrus-imapd/imapd subj=system_u:system_r:cyrus_t:s0 key=(null) Hash: imapd,cyrus_t,proc_net_t,file,read
Hi Brian, bugs 1393013, 1393015, 1393020, 1393030 have most likely the same cause. Unfortunately, I don't know it. I would appreciate if you could help me find it. Thanks for the report.
We're going to close this bug as WONTFIX because * of limited capacity of selinux-policy developers * the bug is related to EPEL component or 3rd party SW only * the bug appears in unsupported configuration We believe this bug can be fixed via a local policy module. For more information please see: * https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/selinux_users_and_administrators_guide/sect-security-enhanced_linux-troubleshooting-fixing_problems#sect-Security-Enhanced_Linux-Fixing_Problems-Allowing_Access_audit2allow If you disagree, please re-open the bug.
(In reply to Lukas Vrabec from comment #6) > We're going to close this bug as WONTFIX because > > * the bug is related to EPEL component or 3rd party SW only cyrus-imapd in in the base repository > * the bug appears in unsupported configuration What is it about my configuration that is unsupported? > We believe this bug can be fixed via a local policy module. Sure it can, and it has been. But that doesn't help anyone/eveyone else. https://stopdisablingselinux.com/ https://ma.ttias.be/stop-disabling-selinux-real-world-guide/ > If you disagree, please re-open the bug. Will do.
