Hello I done this: pvcreate /dev/sd[d-p] -y vgcreate vg /dev/sd[d-p] -y lvcreate -n testLV1 -i13 -l100%vg vg -y Using default stripesize 64.00 KiB. Only up to 8 stripes in striped supported currently. Run `lvcreate --help' for more information. ... if I tried different stripe size lvcreate -n testLV1 -I256 -i13 -l100%vg vg -y Only up to 8 stripes in striped supported currently. these are the disks Disk /dev/sdd: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sde: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdf: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdg: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdh: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdi: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdj: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdk: 999.0 GB, 998999326720 bytes, 1951170560 sectors Disk /dev/sdl: 999.7 GB, 999653638144 bytes, 1952448512 sectors Disk /dev/sdm: 999.7 GB, 999653638144 bytes, 1952448512 sectors Disk /dev/sdn: 999.7 GB, 999653638144 bytes, 1952448512 sectors Disk /dev/sdo: 999.7 GB, 999653638144 bytes, 1952448512 sectors Disk /dev/sdp: 999.7 GB, 999653638144 bytes, 1952448512 sectors vgdisplay: --- Volume group --- VG Name vg System ID Format lvm2 Metadata Areas 13 Metadata Sequence No 1 VG Access read/write VG Status resizable MAX LV 0 Cur LV 0 Open LV 0 Max PV 0 Cur PV 13 Act PV 13 VG Size 11.81 TiB PE Size 4.00 MiB Total PE 3097107 Alloc PE / Size 0 / 0 Free PE / Size 3097107 / 11.81 TiB VG UUID 4sL9fu-Kl3V-MCa4-sHlP-f2ja-mMGE-AC4T3P I am pretty sure, that this works in RHEL-7.2. If I use -i8 it works: lvcreate -n testLV1 -I256 -i8 -l100%vg vg -y Rounding size (3097107 extents) down to stripe boundary size (3097104 extents) Wiping xfs signature on /dev/vg/testLV1. Logical volume "testLV1" created.
Yes, this is a regression - there's already bug filed for that as bug 1389546, closing this one as dup. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1389546 ***
