Microsoft intends to ship .NET Core 1.1 at some point in fall 2016:
https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/roadmap.md

We should provide a .NET Core 1.1 software collection for RHEL that packages a supported version of .NET Core 1.1 for RHEL 7.
