Create configuration channel. 2. Create a configuration file in it. 3. Register a client to Satellite. - add provisioning entitlement. - assign the configuration channel to the client. - install rhncfg* on the client. 4. Deploy the configuration file on the client. # rhn-actions-control --enable-all # rhncfg-client get 5. On the client, sabotage/alter the file you have just deployed # date > /your/file 6. Configuration -> Recently Modified Configuration Files: -> <conf_file> -> Compare File -> Deployed Files 7. Select the system and press "Schedule File Comparison" 8. Make sure client performs the action: # rhen_check -vv 9. In webUI go to the schedule which was announced to you in info text in point "7." -> Completed Systems -> click your system -> Differences exist Actual results: On the page there is a row: File for Comparison: /tmp/bz1358484 on system ... Link below these "..." (please see screenshot to understand what I mean here) leads to: https://smqa-r210-06-vm02.lab.eng.brq.redhat.com/rhn/systems/details/configuration/Overview.do?sid= and this page only shows "Permission Error". Expected results: All links on the "Differences exist" should lead to correct pages. Additional info: Note that in the info box when you have scheduled the diff, link was not clickable. That is tracked as bug 1394053.
Spacewalk 2.8 (and older) has already reached it's End Of Life. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against current version of Spacewalk 2.9, you are encouraged change the 'version' and re-open it.
