Description Vít Ondruch 2016-11-18 09:28:47 UTC
Description of problem:
Since hibernation is not in best condition on Linux (e.g. [1], but there are also different issues depending on Kernel version), it would be nice if there is supported something supposedly more robust and that is Intel Rapid Start, where the hibernation is done by firmware. But there is needed special partition for that. Would it be possible to add support for this feature into Anaconda [2, 3]?

It seems this was dropped by Intel. At leas recent Lenovo laptops does not support IRS :(

I'm not sure writing 16-32GB multiple times per day to a consumer grade SSD is a smart idea tbh...

Hello,

If Intel dropped the IRS feature I think we don't want to implement Anaconda's support for it.

Closing this bug now.
