Description Dmitry Tantsur 2016-11-24 12:48:59 UTC
Description of problem:
After upgrade to Fedora 25, mintMenu is gone and cannot be added again (nothing happens).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mintmenu-5.6.5-4.fc24.noarch

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install mintmenu and trying adding it to the panel

Actual results:
Nothing

Expected results:
Menu appears

Additional info:
Judging by the version, mintmenu was not updated since F24. I suspect it should be rebuilt with GTK3 (or some other dependencies).

Any help will be much appreciated. I don't find the default menu even remotely usable :(

Comment 1 Dmitry Tantsur 2016-11-24 12:51:59 UTC
There seem to be quite a few releases since 5.6.5, maybe worth updating as well: https://github.com/linuxmint/mintmenu/blob/master/debian/changelog

Comment 2 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2016-11-24 16:05:26 UTC
Mate is switched to gtk+-3 but mintmenu isn't ported to gtk3.
The replacement is new mate-menu. Do 'dnf install mate-menu' and load it to the panel.
At the momment i am not sure if i drop mintmenu or wait that linuxmint port it to gtk3.
For this reason i leave the report open for other people.

Comment 3 Dmitry Tantsur 2016-11-24 16:13:24 UTC
mate-menu works reasonably well, thanks for the hint!
