Description Grégoire 2016-11-28 11:19:29 UTC
Description of problem: When using Fedora Media Writer to create a live usb of Fedora 25 (Workstation), the progress bar remains empty during download.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Fedora Media Write
2. Select an image
3. Click "Create Live USB"

Actual results: In the new window, the progress bar is animated a few second and then stays still during download. Then it does show progress when writing and verifying the media.

Expected results: The bar progressively fills up as the download progresses.

Additional info: I can see that mediawriter is writing to disk (using itop).

Hello, thank you for the report.

Does that happen always to you? I've got a few mentions of not updating progress bar from a bunch of people but they weren't getting it always so it's very hard to debug. For me, this doesn't happen at all unfortunately.

Also, can you please specify your graphics card and driver?

Comment 2 Grégoire 2016-12-01 15:39:51 UTC
I do get it every time (well unless the image has been downloaded before, in which case it offers me to write it immediately).

In gnome-settings, it says "Graphics: Intel® Ivybridge Desktop" I'm not sure how to get more details about graphics card and driver :-/

I just tried on my laptop, which is a fresh Fedora 25 install, and I get the same behavior: the download progress bar is not moving.

On the laptop, I have "Intel HD Graphics 5300 (Broadwell GT2)" as 'Graphics' in grome-settings.

On the laptop with Fedora 25, I'm using wayland but the other is still using X11 (Fedora 24).

I don't know if it's related but it seems that mediawriter doesn't adapt to high DPI displays (the whole interface looks tiny on my laptop screen).
