Previously, gnome-settings-daemon did not recognize certain smart cards correctly. As a consequence, gnome-settings-daemon failed to notice insertion and removal events from affected smart cards. The bug has been fixed, and these events are now handled properly.

This bug has been copied from bug #1299992 and has been proposed
to be backported to 6.8 z-stream (EUS).
