Comment 1 Marek Kassur 2004-11-21 00:17:57 UTC
I have got that too.

Lot of phase change messages, ususally when system boots:
kernel: sym0:0:0:phase change 6-7 11@2df6eb84 resid=6.
System is very slow when this happens (root directory is on sym0:0:0).

I've seen bus reset once:
kernel: sym0:0:0:phase change 6-7 11@2f0a0784 resid=6.
last message repeated 51 times
kernel: sym0:0:0:phase change 6-7 11@2f0a0f84 resid=6.
last message repeated 19 times

kernel: sym0:1:0:phase change 6-7 11@2ebd4784 resid=6.
kernel: sym0:1:0:phase change 6-7 9@2ebd4b90 resid=6.

Sometimes it stops after boot ends, sometimes it happens all the time.

Updated the system as we had new kenels over the weekend, but still
happens:

Comment 3 Marek Kassur 2004-11-25 00:19:56 UTC
I had to remove the Sym 53c895, it hangs my server lately with journal
error messages. I have Adaptec SCSI card now and no warnings or errors.
I've installed 53c895 card in one of my test servers, so I can test it
there.

Update to the latest Kernel still the same issue, logging fills the
logs nicely and slows down the system.

FC2 with Arjans 2.6 Kernel was way faster.

Comment 5 Marc Williams 2005-02-05 14:33:07 UTC
Looks like we have the same issue. I had filed my bug a day earlier
with the same symptoms. I'll add my cc to this bug as well. For
details, see:

Comment 6 Steffen Mann 2005-02-18 08:12:54 UTC

Comment 7 Tom Trebisky 2005-03-23 01:36:31 UTC
I just loaded the 770 kernel and this is worse if anything.
If this is resolved, it isn't clear what the resolution is.

Comment 8 Red Hat Bugzilla 2006-02-21 19:07:09 UTC
Changed to 'CLOSED' state since 'RESOLVED' has been deprecated.
